How To Become A Ballerina
by Paris Love
Introduction
Most people are always thinking about what to be when they grow up. Like if they want to be a chef, a doctor, a lawyer, a teacher, or a famous Hollywood movie star. All of those sound really good, but I think if I had to choose what I want to be when I grow up I would have to choose to be a professional ballerina. Ballet can be for anyone no matter if you are tall, short, male, or female. Most people think that ballet is only for girls, but it can be for anyone.

Day To DayLife
Being a ballerina is really fun but it is sometimes hard. It is good to stretch everyday by getting into your left splits, your right splits, your middle splits, lifting up each leg one at a time to stretch out your hamstring and to improve flexibility. It is also good to stretch out your feet at a bar or something stable. Some good stretches to do are: practicing all ballet positions, practicing pointing your toes in all directions with your foot turned out, and strengthening your feet by slowly rising to the ball of your foot about eighteen times. This will strengthen your ankles and the ball of your feet. If you are in a ballet class/or classes it is good to listen to tips that your ballet instructor gives you.
Professional with in the field
My favorite professional dancer is Margot Fonteyn. Margot Fonteyne was born in Surrey, England in 1919. Margot Fonteyn joined Sadler’s well known Ballet company (now known as the Royal Ballet) during the 1930’s. By her 20th birthday, she was the star of the company, inspiring Frederick Ashton to choreograph roles for her and stealing the hearts of every audience who saw her. Most ballet fans know her as the female half of the Nureyev-Fonteyn pair famous for their performances of Romeo and Juliet.
