Building a Heroic Culture in Your School Community
GEARup2LEAD developed a one day training designed to instruct educators on how to build a heroic culture within your school communities where students and staff become change agents and write their own story of success.
GEARup2LEAD is focusing on educators to assist schools in creating positive and inspiring environments where everyone believes they themselves can be heroic leaders.
Whether you are dealing with apathy in academics, social or emotional issues, or trying to build a more positive environment, this session if for you.
Due to an overwhelming amount of financial support within Genesee county, GEARup2LEAD is able to provide training to local educators at no cost.
School districts may send teachers, administrators, counselors, resource officers and other staff they feel will be key leaders in building a heroic culture.
*School districts are responsible for providing substitute teachers when needed.
Educators are Change Agents!
GEARup2LEAD aims to help our educators be G.E.A.R.ed up to help build a heroic culture within school communities. Attending this one day workshop will help you and your team develop a GROWTH MINDSET, build EMPATHY, take ACTION, and accept RESPONSIBILITY in building heroic leaders.
This workshop inspires and instructs educators to:
1. Build empathy and compassion towards each of their students’ individual needs, situations, and personality traits while helping students build empathy and compassion towards one another.
2. Guide individuals through their own heroic leader's journey to encourage the pursuit of higher goals and positive deviance from the status quo.
3. Teach metacognitive skills and learning techniques to help students/staff take control of their own learning and the change process.
4. Learn and deliver research proven curriculum to develop growth mindsets within their students.
5. Learn and deliver bystander effect training to strengthen students’ natural instincts to be heroic leaders and help others through their journey. (Bystander Effect Curriculm licensed from The Heroic Imagination Project)
"I have never been a part of a teacher training that lays out steps on how to act heroically. I always thought of being a hero as saving someone from a burning house or changing the world. GEARup2LEAD does a great job of showing us how we can all be heroic leaders and how to use the heroic leader's journey as a guide to help us create a change in our classrooms. Apathy and the bystander effect is prevalent in our schools and this workshop has already made a difference for us."
