Just Start IT
An 18 week technology Start Up training competition with over 30 schools.
Just Start IT Ltd
- is a multi-dimensional mentor lead program that crosses industries and generations
- aims to build a force of business and technology savvy job creators, not a force of job dependents
- is endorsed by WACE as a Personal Development Program, and counts 5 points towards the TEE score
- ticks every box in the Microsoft 21st Century Learning Pedagogy
- is available to run in all High Schools as part of the curriculum or as an extracurricular activity
- is currently being trialled as a VET program for Cert I, II and III in Business and Cert I in IT
Students working at the cutting edge.
Our Specialist ICT Students from years 7-10 are engaged in many exciting activities;
- Year 7-8s - In-class competition to design a technology solution to young people's problems working with Year 6 students from surrounding Primary Schools
- Year 9s competing in a National Coding Competition - NCSS Challenge
- Year 10's - 18 week inter-school Technology Start-Up competition with $5000 prize money - a bit like the TV Show Shark Tank - Just Start IT
- Year 7-9s are off to Sci Tech to explore space and beyond in Week 10 of this term.
- Year 10s are completing a Certificate 1 in Information, Digital Media and Technology with the Australian Institute of Technology next Semester.
- Students are video editing, making games, doing a Cyber Safety competition and learning to code!

Parents can join Edmodo and see how their child is doing in Specialist ICT - Ask your teacher or child for the unique parent code. There's a APP for your phone too!
Act, Belong, Commit
The ASHS ICT Specialist program supports mental health in WA - themes integrated with lessons and prizes in the APP Competition.
Design a Mobile APP idea - Drawn Week 9
Students come up with a brilliant idea for a new APP and sell it to a panel of judges with great prizes for originality, creativity, mental health themes and technical genius!

Armadale SHS ICT Specialist Program
For students who love technology! ICT is the fastest growing industry area and will be into the future. There are great job prospects in a diverse range of areas in ICT. ASHS has great Senior programs for Specialist ICT Graduates to take; Certificate 2 and 3 in IDMT, ATAR and General - Applied Information Technology and CISCO Information Technology Essentials.

Year 10 - Just Start IT - In school Pitch OFF
In the Performing Arts Centre during session 4. Parents are welcome to attend to watch the students 'Pitch' their idea to a panel of judges to be selected to represent the school at the Inter-school Pitch-offs in Perth. More on that soon. Please RSVP - (08) 9497 6459 - John Townley
