Skating 101 for Third and Fourth Graders
We are very excited about our upcoming skating unit and we are looking forward to giving our students the opportunity to learn how to skate. The unit will take place April 29th-May 9th. Each class will skate 4 times during their Special's time. Fourth Grade’s PE time is from 8:10-9:10 and Third Grade’s PE time is from 9:10-10:10.
Students have received a permission form that is required for them to skate. Please, sign and return the permission form as soon as possible. All equipment is provided for the students. Therefore, purchasing new equipment is not necessary. However, students may bring their own supplies if they wish. Students will be required to wear a helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist protectors. If students are borrowing our helmets, they must bring a baseball cap or some other type of head cover that will fit underneath a helmet.
We are in need of volunteers for the two weeks we are skating. The students will need help putting on equipment and we would like so additional supervision to keep the risk of injury to a minimum. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign and return the volunteer section located on your student’s skating schedule or email us at powens@conroeisd.net or bkirbo@conroeisd.net. Any help you could give us is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
