Plainville Employee Wellness 1/2024
Take Time For You In the New Year!
CARE SOLACE - New support
I am pleased to share a new resource for staff, students, and their families. Effective January 1, 2024, King Philip and the three elementary districts will partner with Care Solace. As you are likely aware, finding access to a mental health provider in the community can be challenging. For anyone seeking support from an outside provider for mental health or substance use services, Care Solace will confidentially connect you to care providers matched to your needs. I am grateful for grant funding that will allow us to offer this service not only for students; but also for staff and their families. This service is in addition to the resources available to you through the Employee Assistance Program and your insurance provider. I invite you to learn more about Care Solace through the letter, video, and the "What to expect" flyer below.

COVID- 19 Tests and information
Test Kits:
1. Free COVID-19 Tests are available to every residence in the U. S. if you have not received any at your home since Sept. 25, 2023. To order visit:
https://special.usps.com/testkits
2. The district was also able to order test kits, and when received, the nurses' offices will have them available for staff who aren't feeling well and would like to test; as well as to offer to families when ill students who are being sent home.
Recommendations:
The last recommendations from the Department of Public Health and CDC advise those who test positive to isolate for at least 5 days. "If they are asymptomatic or symptoms are resolving and they have been fever-free without the use of fever-reducing medicine for 24 hours, they may return to programming after Day 5 and should wear a high-quality mask through Day 10."
Those who have been exposed don't need to quarantine as long as they are symptom-free. Symptomatic individuals with mild symptoms should test and can attend school if the test is negative.
As always, hand washing and masking can prevent spread.
