- Please help with encouraging the best from our students these last days.

- Remember we still have two weeks for 4th and 5th with summer enrichment.

- The 20th & 21st will serve as additional work days for any teacher that owes time or has to complete summer packing. However, we do anticipate one or two students during this time also.
- After this time any staff that needs more time in the building will need to see me to make arrangements.
- Checklist are provided by the following staff.

Old Basals and Level Readers
Immediate Action Required
GCS has ordered that we surplus books... ALL OLD BASALS and READERS from those series that are out of circulation.
Please pack these up today and place them inside your classroom door.
I will ask that some of our 4th and 5th graders help move them to a location on each hallway to be picked up by the district later in the summer. This is not a choice to choose to keep classroom sets of basals. They all must go. You are allowed to have one in your teacher book collections but no more that one copy.
Thank you for understanding and helping us to rid our building of old text.

The Talent Show
Thank you for making our children feel valued and like superstars on Friday night. Your performance was stunning and certainly led to the success of our show.
Please help us celebrate our student's performances also by letting them know how much we appreciate their time and talents.
Thanks so much for your many hours of work to Mrs. Conroy and Mrs. Cooper and the rest of the "Let's Go To The Hop" team.

Time is all the luck you need
If something doesn’t work the first time, don’t give up.
If it doesn’t work the second time, don’t give up.
If you do something long enough, and consistently enough, you will find success.
Time is all the luck you need.

Similarities & Differences
At one time, rap music used to not even be considered music.
This was a focus on differences.
Lin-Manuel Miranda connected Alexander Hamilton to Hip-Hop artists and created the Broadway Musical, Hamilton.
This was a focus on similarities.
By focusing on similarities he made something different, something unique.
The Disney film, The Lion King almost wasn’t made because it wasn’t a film about people. It was a film about talking animals.
This was a focus on differences.
One of the turning points came when The Lion King was connected to Shakespeare’s play, Hamlet that the story grew wings.
This was a focus on similarities.
By focusing on similarities they made something different, something unique.
Differences are important. It’s what makes things unique.
But just below that uniqueness is a slew of similarities.
Similarities reveal the structure.
Similarities reveal the framework.
Similarities reveal the strategy.
By helping your students to notice similarities
it gives them a good shot at making something different, something unique.

Student Medications Information:
The following statement is for the purpose of clarifying steps for transportation and hand off of student medications:
Any student medication requiring transportation to and from another location other than the student’s classroom must done by an adult/teacher.
Any adult/teacher who receives a student’s medication must oversee that medication until it is handed off to another adult/teacher.
It shall be the student’s teacher who is accountable for making sure that the student’s medication is back in his/her classroom at the end of the day and also will be accountable for ensuring that the student’s medication is present at the time of the student’s return to his/her classroom.
Never, should the transportation/hand off of a medication be a student’s responsibility. Never should a student handle a medication of his/her own or another student’s medication. If a student is to “self-carry” a medication, the teacher/adult will be made aware by the school nurse
