A Note From the Principal

Dear Parents,

It is so hard to believe that we are coming to the end of the 2015-16 school year! It has been a year full of learning and accomplishments for our students. The support of our Clarks Creek families has made it possible to provide many opportunities and experiences that we would not have been able to otherwise. Thank you to all of you for your support throughout the year!

As you prepare to have your children home for the summer months, I would encourage you to get involved with the summer reading program at the Guilford Township Library. You can find the information you need at this link: http://www.plainfieldlibrary.net/summer-reading-club-2016/ . Also, keep working on math facts during the summer and read together as a family. Sharing reading time and asking comprehension questions about what you've read will help keep your child from experiencing the "summer slide"!

We look forward to a great last few weeks of school!

Sincerely,

Marisa Donovan, Principal

Final Book Fair of the Year!

There is one final Summer Reading Book Fair that will run from May 18-20th. This particular book sale will ONLY include books (no posters, erasers, pens, etc. that kids often like at the other book fairs) and it will be a buy-one-get-one-free event! This opportunity is being offered to hopefully allow our students an opportunity to stock up on some great reading material for the summer. The Book Fair will also be open during the 5th Grade Breakfast and during the PRIDE convocation on May 20th for parents who may want to stop by.

Reminder - Fifth Grade Parents, Mark Your Calendars!

There are two things that fifth grade parents need to be sure to have on their calendars:

As a reminder, there will be a parent meeting for current fifth grade parents TONIGHT, May 9, 2016 at 6 p.m. in the PCMS auditorium. Information in regard to curriculum and instruction, the purpose of middle school, developmental characteristics of middle school students, and the day-to day routine at Plainfield Community Middle School will be shared.

Also, the annual Fifth Grade Breakfast and Morning of Awards will take place on Friday, May 20th, beginning at 7:30 a.m. in the cafeteria. We look forward to sharing this special event with you as we celebrate the accomplishments of those who will be leaving our school for the middle school!

Medications

If your child has a medication here at school, those must be picked up from the school office by the last day of school. Medications cannot be sent home with students.

Vaccine Information for 5th Grade Parents

Next year, students currently in 5th grade are required to have had 1 Meningitis, and 1 Tdap vaccine. These can be administered any time after age 11 and is required to enter 6th grade.

Please remember – Students not up to date on vaccinations at the beginning of school next year will be excluded from attending school until those requirements are met per Indiana State Code (IC 20-34-4). If your child has a medical or religious exemption, a letter is needed at the beginning of every school year.

Thank you for assistance in this matter. Please feel free to call or e-mail me if you have any questions or concerns.

Families just go and mention that they are from Clarks Creek and Qdoba will keep count of how many from each elementary in Plainfield attend over the course of the three nights. If our school wins the contest then we will have a lunch for staff members at the start of next school year.
