Bee Cave Beehive
9.20.22
Dear Bobcat Parents,
It is hard to believe that we are almost in October. As you can see from the calendar below we have a very busy and exciting time ahead of us.
I would like to give a huge shout out to all of the parents who have had the opportunity to be on campus already this year to volunteer, eat lunch with their kiddos, and to join us for assembly.
All of the students have been working hard for the past 4+ weeks to learn and form healthy friendships. Please be sure to print the Social Emotional Learning dress up calendar below to help remind your child[ren] of these days, as the kids truly enjoy them.
Again, thank you for your ongoing support!
Sincerely,
Principal Kellner

Please visit the Bee Cave website to access the district’s Food and Nutrition (FANS) website to add money to your child’s lunch account, view your child’s purchases, access the daily menu, and to set restrictions for your child’s lunch. It is not permissible for the cafeteria and school staff to restrict your child’s purchases. Please take the time to review the FANS site and establish your child’s lunch account. It is suggested that all students have an account with a few days credit on it in case lunches or money are misplaced or forgotten.
We are still running one lunch line, so if you can send your child with a lunch that can give your child more time to eat. However, please know that your child can stay in the cafeteria to finish eating after the lunch is over if they need to.

SEEKING INPUT BY SEPTEMBER 23 VIA LAKE TRAVIS ISD ESSER SURVEY
Dear Lake Travis ISD Staff, Parents and Guardians,
As you may already know, Lake Travis ISD applied to receive Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. The intent and purpose of the funding is to sustain the safe operation of schools and address student learning needs as a result of COVID-19.
As a part of ongoing ESSER provisions, the District is required to review and revise, as applicable, its plan every six months—including receiving stakeholder input to assist us with prioritizing ESSER funding and developing our Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan.
In an effort to obtain parent and community feedback, we have developed a survey linked below. Please take a moment to share your input and opinions. Responses are due by Friday, September 23, 2022 and will be reviewed and taken into consideration as the District updates its plan. Your participation and feedback are valued and appreciated.

Sincerely,
Marco Alvarado
Executive Director of Communications & Community Relations

DISCOVERY/GIFTED AND TALENTED PROGRAM: PARENT REFERRAL INFORMATION - DEADLINE 10/21
Attention LTISD Parents and Guardians,
The Discovery Program, otherwise known as Gifted and Talented, is now accepting parent referrals for GT Screening via this google form.
Transfer students, who were already identified as GT coming from their previous district, should submit their google form as soon as possible, as the transfer student screening will be set within 30 days of the first day of school. Parents should send proof of their child's selection/participation in the previous GT program directly to the campus GT coordinator.
Parents can submit referrals for screening up until the end of the first 9 weeks, by October 21, 2022. Students will be tested during the 2nd 9 weeks of instruction. If the referral and permission forms are not submitted by the deadline, the student will have to wait until the next year's screening opportunity, as the spring screening session is only for students moving in new to the district after the fall testing window is closed.
The forms and further information about the program can be found here.
Once the request is submitted through the google form, the campus GT coordinator will contact parents via email when the testing dates are set and share additional information. Please plan to attend the Elementary GT Parent Night (virtual event) on October 14 at 11:30 AM for an informative presentation about the program along with a Q&A session with your campus GT teacher.
You are also welcome to contact your campus GT coordinator directly, at any time, with questions. Please reference the contact information below:

CAMPUS SECURITY
Safety and security is our top priority. We believe relationships are critical to successful schools, and ultimately, our families and students are the best partners in keeping our campuses safe. Our principals and school administrators investigate every reported tip or threat. We work with law enforcement and take quick and appropriate action, including notifying families, if there is a valid danger on campus.
We ask all of our families and students to please share any information regarding school or student safety by either directly contacting a school staff member or by using the Cavs Who Care Tip Line, our anonymous alert system. As LTISD grows, we will continue to explore and collaborate with other school districts to find new ways to improve safety and security at our campuses.
Standard Response Protocol
A critical ingredient in the safe school recipe is the classroom response to an incident at school. Weather events, fire, accidents, intruders and other threats to student safety are scenarios that are planned and trained for by students, teachers, staff and administration.
LTISD is expanding its safety program to include the Standard Response Protocol. The SRP is based on these five actions: Lockout, Lockdown, Evacuate, Shelter and Hold. In the event of an emergency, the action and appropriate direction will be announced on the PA system.
Students and staff will be trained and the school will practice these drills over the course of the school year.
..........................................................................................................
Absences
Consistent school attendance is critical for the development of your child. When they miss school, we miss them! The entire school day is needed to deliver the full instructional program. Students need to come to school and attend the full day unless they have fever, a communicable disease, or family emergency. Help us communicate the importance of daily attendance to your child and schedule necessary appointments around school hours. When an absence is necessary, report the absence using Smart Tag. For questions regarding attendance concerns, please e-mail our Registrar, Irena Veliatos, at veliatosi@ltisdschools.org. A note explaining any absence is required upon the student’s return to school.
