Fall Sports - Please Read
Washington Township Schools host a number of athletic teams in the fall season. Incoming 6th graders please note that not all sports are available. Prior to the first day of practice or tryouts, all potential participants must have a valid physical on file with our main office. Physicals completed on or after April 1, 2016 are good for the 2016 - 2017 school year. Most students will have to update their physicals. In addition, all students and parents must read and sign the releases pertaining to Concussions and Cardiac Arrest. Full packets are prepared and available at the front desk. Additionally, you can follow this link to download the complete packet to your computer. 2016 - 2017 Athletic Physical Packet

A Message from Tennis Coach Morley
Dear tennis players and parents,
I am very excited to be a new edition to the Eastwood team and the tennis coach for this upcoming 2016 season. I have heard wonderful things and am looking forward to meeting you all soon. The players will have a call-out meeting during lunch the first Friday of school, August 5th. Also, I am aware that we have a good number of students coming out for the team, so in order to get our initial ladders created, I will be splitting the practices the first week as follows:
Monday, August 8th: BOYS ONLY
Tuesday, August 9th: GIRLS ONLY
Wednesday, August 10th: BOYS ONLY
Thursday, August 11th: GIRLS ONLY
The ladders are basically a system of ranking the players to determine who will play certain positions during the season. There is a separate ladder for boys and girls.
During the majority of the split practices, players will play challenge matches in the form of mini sets so I can put together the initial ladders. There is a possibility that I will need to split the following Monday and Tuesday as well. I will certainly get out notification one way or the other when it gets closer.
Finally, I will be using “Team Snap” to send out updates and notifications once I receive all of the parent emails. Parents will then get an email notification with information on joining the online group. More information on this will come during the parent meeting as well. If you would like to get in contact with me in the meantime, feel free to email or call using the contact information below.
Best,
Karen Morley
A message from Cross Country Coach Geile
Hello XC Parents,
This is the final e-mail sent to last year's email list.
I just wanted to remind everyone that we have a parent meeting on Tuesday, August 9th after practice. It is going to be important that you spread the word because we have so many new runners this year and I do not have a new e-mail distribution list ready. We have over 30 6th grade runners and their parents need to hear the information.
I want to accomplish these following agendas:
* Setting up the parent e-mail list after I collect names on Tuesday
* Get signup genius ready for the meets
* Be the course coordinator for helping set up the course for home weekday meets
* Get team t-shirt and team sweat pants and hoodies ordered
* Get a feeling for how many jerseys we need to order.
We do have a lot of 8th grade boys this year that can help be runners during practice and the meets.
I will see you after practice in the cafeteria on Tuesday,
Coach Geile

Facilities Rental Information
We have many requests for our facilities, especially this time of the year.
If you are interested in pursuing gym space at Eastwood, please indicate the specific days and times you are interested or available. If there are any conflicts with what we currently have scheduled, we obviously would not be able to accommodate. If the space is available, you will need to go the following link and complete the Facilities Rental Application (http://www.msdwt.k12.in.us/facility-rental-information/) . If approved there will be cost for utilities and custodial services. Submit the application through the district office and they will contact Mr. Tutin regarding official dates and times for final approval.
Spectator Expectations

- Learn the rules of the game. Understanding the sport more will allow you to enjoy the sport more
- Show respect for the opposing players, coaches, spectators, and support groups.
- Respect the integrity and judgment of the game officials.
- Recognize and show appreciation for an outstanding play by either team.
- Use only those cheers that support and uplift the teams involved.
