Hello Future Griffins!

By now I've had the pleasure of completing our Griffin Roadshow at each of the feeder elementary schools (BES, HES, VVES, and WAES), as well as hosting a parent/guardian Informational evening. Information on both can be found on our website, in the Griffin News section. There you will find a post specific to Incoming 6th grade 2023-2024.


Following these presentations, the next important 'to-do' is selecting the one elective for your child(ren). Some may not have an option and they will be placed in a required course but those who can choose it is important this is completed by February 21st, 11:59 pm. If a selection is not made then they will be placed in our quarterly Rotation class. All of this is explained in more details in the Course Booklet (see link below).


If you are waiting on the transfer process from the Student Services Department please complete the elective selection with the understanding it does not contribute to the process.

Course Booklet

The Course Booklet is located here online. This booklet will describe electives and required courses for Foothill. Families will need to pick one elective for their incoming 6th grade child. There are exceptions to that which will be explained in the presentation as well as within the booklet.

Incoming 6th Grade Course Elective Selection Process

  • Wednesday, February 08th (through Tuesday, February 21st 11:59pm): The Incoming 6th Grade Course Elective Selection Process window is open online for families to put in their child’s elective request on this Google Form. There will be a link on our website for the form and at the end of the presentation.

  • Tuesday, February 21st 11:59pm: Incoming 6th Grade Course Elective Selection Process window closes.

  • You will NOT be able to sign up for the following: Academic Success (students with an IEP); ELD or ALD (Emerging Bilingual students); or the Accelerated Spanish Program (currently enrolled students in the Dual-Immersion program at BES). We will enter those.

  • Complete the Google Form and if you have further questions please contact us.
