Summer is on the way!
What is Beltane?
Beltane is the Gaelic May Day festival. It is held on the first of May, or about halfway between the spring equinox and the summer solstice. It marked the beginning of summer and rituals were performed to protect the cattle, crops and people, and to encourage growth. Now they're preformed for fun, and Beltane is treated more like a carnival. The festival is also accompanied by a feast. It is a wonderful time for everyone!
