Raptor News
February 2021
Dear Raptor Families,
Beginning February 8th, we will be welcoming back those families who temporarily switched to virtual learning as well as those families that selected in-person learning for the third grading cycle. Classroom teachers will be in contact with families that selected in person learning for the 3rd nine weeks prior to Monday with some information to help make the transition successful. Please do not send your student unless contacted by your child's teacher.
Please continue to encourage your child to stay connected through all the live instruction. As we continue to operate in this virtual environment, it is highly encouraged that all students participate in Zoom with their cameras on, if possible. Our teachers rely heavily on non-verbal communication and observation to assess the knowledge and skills of their students.
If you haven't already done so, I highly encourage every parent to set up an Schoology Parent Account and to set up alerts in HAC. As a parent, this has helped me tremendously to stay up to date with my child's academics and to be able to assist her with her class organization. If you need any assistance with setting up a Schoology account or logging into HAC, we would be happy to assist.
Next week, we will be hosting a Random Acts of Kindness Kick-Off Parade. We will be celebrating Random Acts of Kindness the week of the Feb.15th- Feb.19th. Please reference the flyer below. Please RSVP for this event so we can prepare for our students. We look forward to seeing you!
Sincerely,
Vicki Kilpatrick, Principal

Virtual Career Day
We Are A Project Acorn Campus!
With the pollinator garden, Rhodes is now part of Project Acorn. Project Acorn is an organization that focuses on replanting native Texas plants. Our goal is to create an outdoor classroom where students can help design gardens, study nature, have Science labs, write about observations (ELAR), take measurements (Math), and draw plants and insects (Art).
