Message from Mrs. Pinkham, Interim Principal
Dear Smithson Valley HS Parents,
I hope this email finds you all well and that each of you had a safe, relaxing, and joyous holiday break!
As we transition back into the school year this spring semester, I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and communicate information about our return on January 4.
First and foremost, I am excited to serve the Smithson Valley High School community as the Interim Principal. While I’ve spent the last 2 and a half years as a Director in Curriculum and Instructional Design at Support Services, I previously served Smithson Valley High School as the Academic Dean and an Assistant Principal. The SVHS team and I look forward to welcoming students back for a great start to 2023!
Secondly, in preparation for Wednesday, Jan. 4, please have students check Skyward tomorrow, Tuesday January 3, after 5:00pm to review their most up to date schedule. With a new semester, there is always a possibility of changes to student schedules as classes are updated and balanced. Please know that our teachers and staff will work diligently to make any schedule changes as smooth as possible.
Students who are unable to access their schedule in Skyward should report to Student Services upon their arrival to campus to receive a copy of their schedule.
We will follow our regular bell schedule with doors opening at 8:25am. As always, students are expected to report directly to their first period class.
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to a terrific spring semester!
Tammy Pinkham, SVHS Interim Principal
Make-Up Semester Exams Tuesday, January 3
Tuesday is a work day for our teachers as they will be finalizing Semester Grades.
The cafeteria will not be open tomorrow, so if you anticipate your student staying for a while or if they have multiple exams, we recommend they bring a sack lunch. Students will be able to leave as soon as they complete their exams.

- Students and staff should wear their ID visibly at all times.
- Students and staff should never prop open an exterior door.
- Students must use designated campus entry points. Designated entry points are the front office and cafeteria in the mornings
- Students should not let anyone in a door that is locked.
- If students see something that is not right, please report it to an adult immediately. This can be face to face or through our Crime Stoppers app.
