STOMPing out a Steady Beat
Students in grades Kindergarten through 7th grade experienced Carrington Clinton’s STOMP for Students music workshop via Webex & Google Meet held Dec 7-10 in the high school library. Students used everyday found objects and worked in collaborative groups to create an unique steady beat. Students were very creative in their found instruments: empty tissue boxes, wooden spoons, art boxes, and even a wand. Carrington Clinton is an accomplished percussionist from Indianapolis with his own jazz group ,Clint Breeze and the Grove. Check out their YouTube Channel.
These workshops (18 in all) were sponsored by our Indiana Art Commission grant which is generously matched by the Harrison County Community Foundation. Please ask your student about their experience with the workshop.
