Holiday Store

The Holiday Store will be held December 2-5 this year in

Room 6 (Ms. Gould’s old room). Devon Greenan sent a

sign up form, and most spaces are filled. If you did not

sign up your class yet and want to bring your students,

please contact Devon at Please

remember that by signing up you have agreed to have

your homeroom parent or another volunteer come

with your class to assist the students. Lower grades will

need multiple volunteers as the children have a difficult

time budgeting and need more assistnance. We have an

extremely hard time of getting enough volunteers to

work the store, which is why last year we had only

How you can help: Make sure parents know when your

class is signed up to attend the Holiday Store, so

students can bring money that day! Items run between

25¢ and $13, with most items under $5.

Ask early for class volunteers, so parents can mark their

Box Tops

Don’t forget that the class that brings in the most Box

Tops/Labels for the year will receive a $50 Visa card!

Ms. Caley’s class is in the overall lead right now with

784 Box Tops/Labels.

5419 Box Tops have been submitted so far this year!

(That equals $541.90!) We also had 510 Labels for

Education submitted.

How you can help: Continue to submit Box Tops and Labels for Education. We cannot accept expired labels!

What we have been doing

We have been working on reading with a purpose.

Shared reading that connects to our SS Westward expansion unit has been how we have been practicing this skill. We have discussed recording on our paper or a sticky note if we make connections, find out new words, have a prediction, question or wondering.

We have wrapped up our unit on continental and oceanic landforms. Next week we will begin our unit on Mixtures and Solutions.

We just wrapped up our unit on multiplication and are moving into a new chapter on division. I am proud to say that 94% of my class was proficient or better on the chapter 2 math test! :)
