Working Hard In The Music Department

Our music department is off to a great start second semester. A number of students are preparing to participate in the OMEA Solo and Ensemble event in March. We also have some upcoming concerts at the end of February and early March.

In addition, information is now available for those students interested in playing an instrument in Fifth Grade. Please see the presentation below---and regardless of age--if you aren't playing an instrument and want to start---contact us for more information!

We look forward to sharing our work!

Mogadore Junior/Senior High Music News

Junior High and High School Winter Band Concert

Stay tuned---our Junior High and High School students will be presenting their work from this winter at the Music Department's Winter Concert on Sunday, February 28 at 2:00 PM. More details to follow and we look forward to seeing you there!

Solo and Ensemble Recital and Choir Concert- Sunday, March 7

A number of high school and junior high students are preparing for the first ever Ohio Music Education Association's Virtual Solo and Ensemble this spring. This event challenges our students to perform repertoire at the highest level with an evaluation from an adjudicator from OMEA. Typically this event would be in person--but this year, students are able to submit videos of their performance for evaluation---which can be less nerve racking!

As part of this opportunity, our students will be performing their selections, in person, on Sunday, March at 2:00 PM in the MHS Commons. In addition, our Choirs will be performing selections from the second semester. We hope you can join us for some wonderful music making!

Band Notes from Mrs. Mabrey!

Thank you to all of the students, families, and directors for welcoming me to Mogadore during Mrs. Bonitz's maternity leave! I have been enjoying getting to work with each of your incredible students and we are really excited to present to you our two upcoming band program spring concerts. We are currently in the process of recording our sixth grade virtual concert to show off all of their progress and hard work and to also give you a glimpse of what a day in band class looks like. We are also looking forward to presenting to you our Band Concert on Sunday, February 28 that consists of the jazz band, junior high concert band, and the high school concert band.

For now we will continue pushing forward and working towards putting on a great performance at the end of February.
