Mr. Mauck's Musings
Our school radio station got a boost with the purchase of a new transmitting station. The Scratch on 91.7 will now be The Curve, Grade A Music on 93.7. Expect the same great programming but with four times the range. This weekend marks the beginning of most of our sports team's seasons. I want to wish everyone a safe and successful season. The best Marching Band in the state will have their Wildcat Kick-off this weekend. They sound better than ever and the show is outstanding.
School Pictures will be on August 24th & 25th. Just a reminder, lunch money may be deposited either by My School Bucks or cash or a check may be given to the cafe staff from 7:15 till 8 am. Please note our newest "employee" Brenda coming in October. Brenda is a vending machine that will provide healthy snack options for students. Students may use the lunch account to purchase items. Please discuss proper spending with your students.
Starting next week we will be selling parking permits for students that drive to school. The cost is $25 for the year and the money is used for traffic control before and after school. Thank you to all the parents that pick up and drop off students at school for following the procedures. We have been able to clear the parking lots by 3:15 or earlier each day this week. Please review the section below on hours of operation and transportation to review the procedure.
We have two community events listed this week. One is the Art day hosted by SWICACC on 5th street and the other is the Public Safety Community Day hosted by the Jasper Police Department.
We have had a great start to the school year. I have talked to many students and staff that have commented this is one of the best starts they can remember. All the credit goes to our students and staff. We are looking forward to a full week of fun, learning, and activities.
Mr. Mauck

The following guidelines are in effect for student dress. Law Enforcement Training
The Jasper Police Department hosted officers with the Dubois County Sheriffs’ Office, Huntingburg Police Department and their own department for training on responding to shooting situations within a building like a school.
Officers from the three agencies worked on clearing and responding to situations with an active or non-active shooting within Jasper High School on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Instructed using tactics taught in Indianapolis during an active shooter training seminar, officers learned how to clear rooms properly, work their ways through halls, and create unity with those they are with.
