North One Act Plays

North High School presents two one-act plays, 4AM and The Birth of Theatre, plus a special ensemble performance of "Meet the Plastics" from Mean Girls at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, January 19 and Friday, January 20 in the North High School theater. Tickets are $3.

4AM tells the story of an early-morning jogger, a radio DJ, the author of an unusual letter, and other teen characters as they search for connection in the early hour of 4 a.m.

The Birth of Theatre is a dramatic telling of how historians believe theater arose, as a reenactment of a hunt. To break up the humdrum life in their camp, elders give four hunters the task of showing how they killed a giant bear.

Both 4AM and the ensemble performance were directed by students.

When a baker and his wife learn they have been cursed with childlessness by the witch next door, they embark on a quest to retrieve specific objects required to break the spell. Along the way, they meet Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Jack (who climbed the beanstalk) and more familiar characters.

The January 26-27 performances are at 7 p.m. while the January 28 performance is at 2 p.m. in the Discovery Middle School theater.

Board Column - FPS Board of Education Governance Committee

The Fargo Public Schools Board of Education Governance Committee helps guide and support the School Board by ensuring it adheres to healthy and productive governance practices. The absence of good governance can lead to conflict, allowing challenges to arise in leadership, shifting the focus from student achievement and the betterment of the District to internal struggles.
