Last Day of School-In Person Party next Friday

It's here!! Next Friday is our last day of school! We know that Fridays are usually virtual, but we would like all of our students to join us in person at the school for an end of the year party. Students may arrive between 8:15-8:30. We will play games, eat food together, and there will be ice cream to finish up the day. This will be a fun-filled day for our students and a great way to close out the year! Parents, you are welcome to join us at 11:30 for food and ice cream fun. We will dismiss at 12:30.

Congratulations to Ms. Arianna

Ms. Arianna Godfrey has been an integral part of Ephesus Junior Academy for the past 7 years! She has worked as a Teacher's Aide and Office Assistant. This school year, she served as a Student Teacher in the 1st-4th grade classroom. Now that she has completed her teaching degree, she is excited to move into teaching full time, and recently accepted a position to teach 5th-6th grade at Reading Junior Academy in Reading, Pennsylvania! We are so proud of Ms. Arianna, but of course this is sad news for us, as she will not be returning for the upcoming school year. We want to thank Ms. Arianna for her years of service to EJA, her hard work, and dedication to our students and families. Remember to send her off with your well wishes when you see her!

Lockdown Procedures Implemented

You should have received an email from Mr. Alberty, our Conference Superintendent, regarding lockdown procedures in light of the tragic events that occurred in Texas this week. Due to this, next Thursday's graduation will now be a ticketed only event. Please see more details below.

Graduation Update

Due to our current lockdown procedures, graduation will be a ticketed event. Only guests who have reserved a ticket will be allowed to enter. Later next week, we will send out a link to register and attend the graduation program. Thank you for working with us to keep our students and families safe!

We are excited to celebrate our 8th grade scholars on Thursday, June 2nd at 6:30 PM. Family and friends are invited to join us for this celebration of our students! 8th grade parents, please continue to check your emails for the most up to date information from us.

COVID-19 Reminders and Guidelines

Parents, we want to thank you again for your quick response and cooperation this week. We ask that you continue to update us immediately about any Covid exposures or positive test results. We are in constant communication with the Allegheny East Conference Office and the Richmond/Henrico Health Department to advise us of the appropriate steps to follow in every situation. Let's continue to be vigilant and mindful so we can protect our students and others. A few reminders:

  • Any student with cold or flu-like symptoms should stay home in order to avoid spreading any illness. Students are allowed to join class virtually at home for illness and/or quarantining.
  • Students who have either tested positive for COVID-19 or have been exposed to COVID-19 (family member, friend, etc) should remain home. Parents, please contact Ms. Nugent right away if this happens. We will follow the CDC and Allegheny East Conference guidelines for quarantining and testing.
  • We will always inform you of any exposures at school, and notify close contacts if they need to quarantine.
  • At this time, indoor and outdoor masking is still requested of all students, staff, and visitors while on campus.
  • Social distancing (6 ft apart) is still practiced, where possible, when in contact with others for more than 15 minutes.

Coin Wars for ADRA (Fundraising Drive)

Our last outreach project of the year will be to collect loose change for the Adventist Disaster and Relief Agency (ADRA). ADRA is our church's humanitarian organization. They deliver relief and development assistance to individuals in more than 118 countries. We will be raising money to support ADRA’s current relief efforts in Ukraine and around the world. From now until the last day of school, students can bring in any extra pennies, dimes, nickels, quarters, and yes, even dollars that they find laying around and add it to their class' donation bin. The class that raises the most money will receive a prize! To learn more about ADRA's impact, check out their website, click here
