Mrs. Springer, Principal
Do you have a best friend at work? I DO! There was a time I did not see the importance of having coworkers who are also friends. In fact, one of my favorite interview questions was, "How important is it to you that your coworkers are your friends?" This changed a few months into Mrs. Claire Springer's first year at Savannah. For the past seven years, I have had a best friend at work. I am grateful for the friendship and the growth that has taken place as a result.
Friday will be Mrs. Springer's last day as the assistant principal of Savannah Elementary School. After seven years of leadership she is stepping into the role of principal at Denton ISD's newest elementary school, Sandbrock Ranch Elementary. The students, staff and families of Sandbrock will be the benefactors of the expertise and leadership she has shared with us. This is an incredible opportunity for her.
Mrs. Springer and I will always be a team and she will always be connected to our school in some way. The hub of all things Sandbrock will be located in room 109 of the Savannah office. Mrs. Katie Warrick, her new secretary, will report here each day and Mrs. Springer will be in our building when she is not at Union Park building relationships with students or out at Sandbrock Ranch.
I am very excited for Mrs. Springer and I am very proud of all she has accomplished. I am confident she will make an incredible impact at her new school, our zone and in our district!

Breakfast & Water Bottle Reminders
Breakfast Reminders
It is important your child eats breakfast each morning, either at home or at school. The cafeteria opens for breakfast at 7:10 AM. We have many students not being dropped off until 7:30 AM and still needing to eat breakfast. This does not give students enough time to eat and get to class by the 7:40 AM tardy bell. All students who are eating breakfast should be dropped off in the back circle drive by 7:15 AM to have plenty of time to eat their breakfast. Thank you so much for your help with this!
Water Bottles
We want to ensure your child is hydrated each day they are at school. This is important for their learning stamina and overall health. Please send a water bottle with your child to school each day. Students are welcome to leave their refillable water bottle in their cubby each day. We appreciate the water donations so much but at this time are running low to provide students with a water bottle each day. If your child is in need of a refillable water bottle, please let your child’s teacher know.
