Wade King Elementary
August Update - August 20th, 2021
A Note from the Principal
Hello Wade King Families,
I hope your summer has been filled with things that bring your family joy. I also hope that your child is getting excited to start a new school year. Our office team is registering new families and ordering materials to be ready for the school year. Our custodial team has spent the summer cleaning our building and our teaching team is starting to set up their classrooms. The Wade King PTA is gearing up to welcome families and partner with our school and community to provide opportunities for connection and plan learning experiences for our students, including the addition of school garden. We're feeling excited to welcome your family back and begin a new year with your child(ren).
The information below should answer many of the questions you have about our upcoming school year, but don't hesitate to connect with me or with Debbie McMeel, in our office, if you have other questions. She is in the office between 9:00am-12:00pm and 1:30-3:30pm if you want to come in. You can also call her at (360) 647-6840 ext. 2. We are here to support you any way we can.
Here’s to an AMAZING 2021-22 school year, filled with strong learning experiences for our children, strong partnerships with families, and lots of JOY for all.
See you soon!
Stephanie Johnson, Principal

Health & Safety
All Screening All the Time
As students return to school, we are asking families to continue to be diligent in screening their children for symptoms all the time... and keeping their children home if they aren't well.
Masks
As we return to school, all adults and children will wear masks while they are in the school building. We will be able to take mask breaks when we are outside. If your child has not needed to wear a mask this summer, you might have them spend time wearing a mask to build their stamina before school starts.
Handwashing
We will continue to teach handwashing skills and encourage frequent handwashing throughout the day.
We know what to do to keep our school community safe!
New Students?
If you have had a new family move into your neighborhood this summer, please let them know about our school, share our contact information, and encourage them to register if they haven't already. Debbie McMeel, in our school office, would love to support them in completing our online registration if needed.
Thank You!
