John Glenn Elementary School
2023-2024 School Year
Welcome Back to the 2023-2024 School Year!
The First Day of School Photo Opportunities
Back to School nights were great! I enjoyed seeing how much all of the kiddos have grown. We are excited to get them back into the school next week. For photo opportunities, there will be a large space themed backdrop to be used for pictures for your child's first day. It should be large enough that more than one family can take pictures at a time. If you would like, please email any of them you want and I will post them on the Facebook page. Please be sure to park in a parking space to utilize this.
What Do I Need to Know for the First Day!
What I need to know about the first day of school:
- Breakfast is served from 7:15 - 7:30. The student price is $2.35 and reduced price is $.30.
- When students are dropped off, they will get out of the car between the mailbox and the end of the sidewalk. There will always be someone outside between 7:15 - 7:40 am to assist the students. Please put their car seats on the passenger side of the car for easy and safe removal.
- At the end of the day, students that are picked up will wait until their number is called. You must have your number in your front (passenger side) window so that the teacher taking numbers will be able to see it. Do not drive past until she has the number. Please do get out of the car. If you need to help buckle a seatbelt, pick up your child and pull into a parking spot. We do not allow students to be picked up at the front door during dismissal time.
- Please make sure the office or teacher knows what your child's end of day dismissal plan will be before 2:00 pm: walker, bus, car pickup, or BLOOM.
Reminder of First Day Safety Protocol
In order to ensure the safety of all students in the building and a smooth start to the school year for all students we are putting the following procedures in place:
First Day of School-
Parents/ Guardians are asked to take pictures outside of the building. Photo ops will be available.
Parents/ Guardians will be asked to remain outside of the building and send all paperwork and payments in with their students. Only parents needing to enroll students will be allowed in the office.
Second day of School & Beyond-
Parents/ Guardians may enter the office, if needed, but will not be allowed down the hallways.
Parents/ Guardians need to be a scheduled volunteer to further enter the building.
Thank you for your understanding!
Bloom After School Care
If your child will be part of the Bloom After School Care, please enroll or contact Mary Ingersoll at https://inspirationsdancecenter.com/after-school. A child must be enrolled prior to attending the program. If your child is enrolled and has paid the weekly fees, please send a message, note or phone call to the school so that we send your child to the correct after school placement.
