A MESSAGE FROM MR. COLE
Pine Road Families,
We are thrilled to be able to be back in school and offering 5 days of in-person learning! There is a definite buzz in the air with more students in our halls! Please be mindful of a few key points as we continue our increased 5-day in-person offering.
Masks and Face Coverings
Students should come to school with appropriate face coverings; We will have face coverings available in instances where a spare is needed.
Please review proper mask-wearing with your children. Masks should fit snugly and fully cover the mouth and nose.
Schedule
Please remember that Wednesday afternoons will be reserved for asynchronous instruction for our in-person learners. Assignments will be posted and accessed independently.
Wednesday AM will follow a modified ½ day schedule allowing teachers to focus on instruction in the core areas of ELA and Math.
Dismissal begins at 12:15
Teachers will have time dedicated each Wednesday for virtual learners.
The classroom teacher will coordinate with virtual learners to schedule specific times for targeted virtual engagement on Wednesday afternoon.
Health Room
Please remember to conduct the Daily Health Monitoring Checklist daily.
Please note, if a child is absent from school for an illness, they will be required to provide a doctor’s note, with a diagnosis, to return to school.
Please be reminded that a return to 5-day in-person instruction requires students to be seated less than 6 feet apart in the classroom setting. Under current Montgomery County guidelines, this will lead to an increase in close contact quarantines.
All attendance changes will be reported using the Pine Road Attendance Form. There will be no Blue or Yellow cards this year.
If you have attendance concerns, please email carchutowski@lmtsd.org
Teachers will additionally monitor the completion of learning activities for virtual students to reinforce attendance throughout the day.
If you are a virtual learner and need to be absent for only part of the day (sign in late or “leave” early), please utilize the Pine Road Attendance Form.
We are thrilled to have so many of our learners back in the school 5 days a week! The cooperation of the entire school community will be necessary to make our return a success!
Sincerely,
Scott Cole
Principal

- Unless directed by school staff, please do not pass other cars in the car-line. This can create dangerous situations.
- While waiting on Pine Road to enter the loop, please ensure you are not blocking our side streets. Many of our buses utilize these side streets and have experienced delays this week due to not being able to get onto Pine Road.
- Please have your car-line name tag clearly displayed. If you need a tag, please ask Mr. Radway as he is checking you in, and we can ensure you receive one.

As we move into Tax Season, we invite you to learn more on how you can decrease your Tax Liability while investing in your school. If you own a business or work for a company in the state of Pennsylvania, now is the time to act. Through Education Tax Improvement Credit Program, businesses can donate up to $750,000 each year to EITC-eligible organizations, and then claim 75 percent of that donation as a credit that offsets their state tax bill. Keeping Touches Safe and Healthy Lesson Information
Thank you to Jessica Carson, Community Education Supervisor at Victim Services Center (VSC), for joining our March PTA meeting to share important information about keeping our children safe from abuse. As a reminder, each classroom in grades Kindergarten through third grade will receive one lesson about “Keeping Touches Safe and Healthy.” A skilled educator from Victim Services Center will join the classroom (virtually) to facilitate a developmentally appropriate lesson; the classroom teacher will be present for the duration of the lesson. These lessons will take place on March 12, 15, 22, 23, 24, 25, or 26. Your child(ren)'s teacher will communicate the date of their lesson. If you missed Mrs. Carson's presentation at the PTA meeting, you can watch a recorded webinar of a VSC Parent Course that includes all of the same information (and then some!) by clicking HERE. These can be challenging conversations, but they are important. You can also explore the resources Mrs. Carson shared in the PTA meeting by visiting the Personal Safety tab of our school counselors' website.
