Who, What, When, Where, Why

On September 11, 2001, 19 militants associated with the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda hijacked four airliners and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the United States. These targets include the two towers of The World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon just outside of Washington D.C., and one plane crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. Over 3,000 people were killed during the attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C., including more than 400 police officers and firefighters. 9/11 left America confused, scared, and changed forever.

September 11, 2001 - As It Happened - The South Tower Attack

Perspective #1

The media potrayed and got many people thinking that the 9/11 attacks were set up by the government and former president, George W. Bush profited from these attacks. Some believe that buildings, such as the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were destroyed by bombs and that the phone calls from planes were made up. The media came up with different reasons why this may be true that really got people thinking. They questioned why the plane impacted a section of the Pentagon that was vacant due to renovations. The media also says that the holes in the Pentagon that was vacant due to renovations. The media also says that the holes in the Pentagon were much smaller than a commercial American airline plane, leaving impossible for a plane to be in charge of this horrific disaster. Scientist and Skeptics maintain that cellphones could no receive reception from the altitude from at which planes typically fly.

Perspective #2

After the 9/11 Terrorist attacks the media turned on Muslims and anyone who may look Muslim or from the Middle East. The media had this idea that anyone who is Muslim or from the Middle East must play a role in these attacks. Many Muslim people were looked down upon as if they were part of these attacks. Many Americans didn't trust them and were scared of them. Editor-in-Chief Martin Peretez, in "New Republic Column" questions whether I need to honor these people and pretend that they are worthy of these privileges of the First Amendment, which I have in my gut the sense that they will abuse it."

Media Biased

The media portrayed 9/11 as a horrific event. Some argue that 9/11 was planed while others believe it was an act of terrorism 9/11 left America distraught, confused, and not knowing who to trust. In my opinion, I believe that 9/11 was caused by terrorist who hate America. I think that it is very crazy for people to believe that our government would play a part in such a cruel act. 9/11 has played a huge roll on our country that still is relevant to this day.

Historial Critism

9/11 is a major historical event that is still remembered today. It is an event that has left a significant impact on America. Ever since 9/11 our country has made many changes such as strengthening the boarder security, insuring more security in airports, and improving American intelligence.

Marxist Critism

America has always been known as the promise land, land of the free, and a place where peoples dreams come true. America has always been one of the top military countries in the world and due to 9/11 America was able to rebrand our aggression. It helped us fabricate the threat and enemies to justify new imperialists wars. 9/11 helped America regroup. We set up security and new laws and standards to insure our countries safety.
