#TechieKnight: Emailing Skyward Progress Reports
To assist with parent communication, teachers can email Skyward progress reports to all or individual students within a Skyward class. This is a feature is useful especially for those students who are in danger of not passing your class. Click HERE to learn how and begin using this feature today!
Please note that parents were able to select the option to receive a hard copy of report cards and progress reports at the start of the year. This feature can benefit your parents who don't regularly check Skyward Family Access.

Assigning Tests through Respondus for Chromebooks
Printing from Chromebooks
The answer is NO, students do not have the ability to print from their Chromebooks. I have been in touch with several other Chromebook campuses to see how they go about having students print. What I have found out is they have students log in on classroom desktop computers, access their Google Drive, and print from there. I would suggest checking your classroom desktop computers to make sure they are working and have the grade level printers installed. If you have an issue with your classroom desktop computers, please submit a service desk ticket ASAP so Steve Amor can get them up and running.
YouTube Video Access for Students
YouTube videos are blocked to student access on school-issued devices. In order for your students to view YouTube videos on their Chromebooks, teachers must select one of two options listed below:
- Teachers can submit a HelpDesk ticket with the video name and individual videos can be whitelisted (short term solution if needed ASAP due to the change)
- Create a YouTube channel and turn in a ticket to have the YouTube channel white listed. This will allow any videos posted to the channel to be white listed and you won’t have to individually white list videos. Ideally, this option works best if you created one channel for your content area and multiple teachers have the ability to add videos.
Coming Soon! DyKnow Cloud Chromebook Extension training
Unfortunately, there was a glitch with installing the DyKnow Cloud extension on student Chromebooks. I have been in communication with the IT Department, and sadly they have said it could take a few days for the extension to get pushed to all machines and install. In the meantime, please wait patiently. I will let teachers know when I receive more details.
Once the program is up and running properly, I will be offering a training. In the meantime, feel free to check out this RESOURCE to learn more about using DyKnow Cloud in your classroom.
