Week 36
Week 36 Notes
This week, I had the chance to stop at each of the graduate's homes to deliver diplomas. I had a lot of fun talking with each family and getting a better look at the community. During my time in the district, I've had many opportunities to drive through Richfield, but never with this much depth. I was so impressed with how beautiful the neighborhoods are, how well-kept everyone's lawn and yard looked, and how much pride everyone had in their homes. Out of the 60+ deliveries I was scheduled to make, I did not go to a single house that didn't answer the door. For many of the houses, students had their extended family over and were dressed for the occasion. It reminded me of how important this time was for all of our graduates, despite the unfortunate circumstances.
The conclusion of every school year is a big deal! Your child is one year closer to the high school and independence. As you talk this week, I encourage you to ask "What is one thing you want to celebrate from this year?" or "What was your biggest accomplishment from this grade?" I know it's easy to focus on the end of this year, but please remember, we had an awesome and very successful 2/3 of the year to begin. Welcome in the positive conversations as the focus turns to the fall.
I appreciate all of the well-wishes I received on the road the last few days. Thank you for welcoming me in these last 4 years. You are in good hands moving forward!
Thanks,
Jeff Carron
