Important Messages from Administration
The main office is the hub of our school and is a very busy location. To help limit traffic and minimize distractions in that location we remind you that we will not accept lunch deliveries from outside sources, this includes families dropping off lunches from outside sources. If your child forgets to bring a lunch please remember that this year there is NO cost to students for breakfast OR lunch.
At no time should a student place orders through outside sources (GrubHub, UberEats, etc.) expecting a delivery.

No pets are allowed at sporting events at Linkhorne Middle School.

Please utilize the designated car lane in the morning to drop your student off at school. Please do not go to the second row because this will have your student crossing through traffic.
Please join our upcoming PTO meeting, which will be held VIRTUALLY, on Thursday, November 18 at 6 pm via Google Meet. We’d love to see new faces, answer any questions, and hear suggestions. All are welcome!

FROM THE COUNSELING DEPARTMENT
From Mrs. James:
Continuing our topic of “Mental Toughness”, which we might define as the ability to push through and keep trying when things feel challenging”, let’s consider ways to build a healthy mind as we look at ideas around intake, associations and affirmations.
Intake - What you read, watch and listen to
What we allow INTO our minds is very important. I often used to ask my own kids what they were doing to BALANCE what was allowed in their minds. If they played two hours of video games, for example, what positive input (reading, uplifting music, outdoor activities etc.) were they going to do to match that?
Association - The people you surround yourself with
Choosing friends and associations with people who build us up help us a great deal more than surrounding ourselves with friends who tempt us, are undependable, or drag us in a negative direction.
Affirmations - The words we say to ourselves
Keeping it positive is key. Leaning on growth mindset-type statements when we talk to ourselves will help. “I can do this”. “I do not have to get it perfect but I can give it my best effort.”
(ideas adapted from Buffini and Company, 2021)
Interims being sent home on Thursday, 11/18/21
Interim reports will be available on November 18th. All students will receive a paper copy of their interim report on Thursday, 11/18. Please review mid-quarter grades with your students and make a plan to submit missing assignments or request extra help in weak areas before the end of the semester. Your child’s teacher is the best resource for initial ideas and suggestions to make improvements. Additionally, consider tapping into our AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING PROGRAM by filling out the google form link.
Second quarter/end of first semester report cards will be distributed on January 7, 2022. However, all grades are finalized PRIOR to students leaving for Winter Break.
Food 4 Thought Weekend Food Bags

Permission forms are available in the main office or by contacting Mr. Carr. Food bags are sent out on Fridays.

Please use this link to get to Linkhorne Middle's virtual fair: Online Book Fair
The students have had the opportunity to visit the book fair and create wish lists over the past couple of days. Students are allowed to shop Nov. 15th-19th during school hours with a pass from a teacher. Students may use cash, card, checks (made payable to Linkhorne Middle School), or an eWallet. If you are uncomfortable sending money to school with your child, the eWallet is a safe way to give your child the freedom to shop. You can also purchase directly online through the virtual book fair. All of the information for shopping and setting up an eWallet is available through the LMS Scholastic Book Fair home page: LMS Scholastic Book Fair website
Give your child a safe, cashless way to shop the Book Fair by creating an eWallet. This digital payment option can be used at the in-school Book Fair or online at the Virtual Book Fair, where you'll discover an expanded selection of over 5,000 products. Plus, every purchase benefits our school! Visit FAQs to learn more.
How It Works
- Create an account for each child
- Add funds...
- ...or invite family and friends to contribute
- Shop the Book Fair
- Spend unused funds online or fund an eWallet for your next Fair!
After the Fair, remaining eWallet funds are not returned to a credit card but instead, become a gift card balance that can be used online with Scholastic or to fund an eWallet for a future Book Fair. Be sure to sign in with the same email used to create the eWallet.
Please watch the video below for more information about eWallets.
