From the Principal’s Desk
Wow! What an awesome two weeks for the students and staff at Boonsboro Middle. Since our last newsletter, our students have done some amazing things! The newsletter highlights those accomplishments. I am super impressed and I think you will be once you are finished reading this newsletter. In addition, there is a lot of important information in our newsletter this week. Please take some time to read through all of it.
Attention Eighth grade parents and guardians. On Monday, March 12th and Tuesday, March 13th all 8th grade students will take the Maryland Integrated Science Assessment (MISA) in the morning. We need all 8th grade students to be on time and to have a fully charged iPad. Below is some additional information about the 8th grade MISA exam from the Maryland Department of Education website:
The MISA exam consists of four “units.” In each of the first three units, students will read information about three separate phenomena and answer questions about each. One of those questions will be a constructed response question, and the other questions will be a combination of multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, matching, and other technology-enabled item types.
Units 1–3
- 3 tasks in each, which are based on scientific phenomena
- 1 constructed response question for each task
- 5 other types of questions for each task
- 1 task similar to those in units 1–3
- 1 extended task that may include a simulation
One last thing... This weekend is our PTO sponsored Color Run. The forecast has improved and this should be a fun event for a low cost. If you have not registered yet, the information is below! Have a great weekend and I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday!
