Week of September 11th
Third Grade Happenings
We have been very busy in third grade setting up expectations and creating classroom families. All of the kids are doing a wonderful job learning how to be third graders.
On Wednesday the 13th all third graders will take the Beginning of Grade test for reading. Most students will finish the test in approximately 90 minutes. The goal of this test is to see where students currently are. It is written on an end of the year third grade reading level, so it is not uncommon for students to be not proficient. Scores for this test will be available in a few weeks and will be sent home then. Please make sure your student is on time that day, testing will begin by 8:30, students will not be permitted to enter the room until after testing is over if they arrive late.
Reminders
*Please make sure all transportation changes are written in the agenda.
*Absence notes need to be turned in within 2 days. After this time the absence will remain unexcused per county policy. Not all absences qualify to be excused.
*We have several allergies in third grade. Please let us know well in advanced if you plan to send in a birthday treat. This gives us a chance to make arrangements so nobody is left out. Please have any treats that being sent in be things that are easy to pass out. Individual cupcakes, doughnuts, treat bags are quick and easy. Please no cookie cakes or cupcake cakes.
*Students are responsible to any damages to their chromebook, if the $15 tech fee is not paid they will be billed for the full replacement cost of the part. Please consider paying this.
