This Week in 2D

It's Play Week!

Our Learning Journey

The Who Am I presentation boards arrived in the classroom on Friday being carried by their very proud owners. The children enjoyed sharing them with each other and they can't wait to share them with you on Grandparents' Day on Thursday. During the week each child will be given the opportunity to present their boards and tell their classmates all about their character. Please read below for more detailed instructions pertaining to our dress rehearsal on Wednesday and our program on Thursday. Number stories using multiplication and division will continued to be studied in math. We will be headed over to the chemistry lab for an experiment with Mr. Manley on Monday. Did you know that your child probably already knows their 0,1,2,5, and 10 multiplication facts? Please encourage your child to log their minutes for the summer reading challenge.

Grandparent and Special Friends' Day!

It's finally here! The children are excited about our upcoming program for their Grandparents and Special Friends. The Who Am I project is coming to a close and the children are proud of their work and eager to show it off. The presentation boards and essays were completed on Friday. We will continue to work on tuning our singing voices and projecting loudly when speaking our lines. The second grade will have a dress rehearsal on Wednesday so that we can make a "dry run" using the rest of the lower school as an audience. The students will need to be in full costume (props and all) on this day. They should be prepared to chat with visitors in the living museum. The program begins in Thursday at 10:00 in Jelks Auditorium with the living museum to follow in Demere Gym. We can't wait to see you there!
