Out with the Old, In with the New!

This year our staff and students entered into a new and improved building. We all anticipated how our campus would look. Once we walked the hallways for the first time, many of us were in awe to see all of the modern decor and up to date technology. With two floors, an elevator, two computer labs, a gym with an awesome sound system, and our own cafeteria, we knew we would enjoy using all the space our campus provides. We are all still excited about our building. Thanks, Galena Park, for an exceptional campus!

Dedication Ceremony

Our campus Dedication Ceremony took place on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. We had many visitors on campus ready to participate in the dedication ceremony and tour our wonderful building. The school was decorated in a shimmer red and sparking silver. Staff and students welcomed the community as we all paid homage to our new campus.

Say NO to Drugs!

October is Drug Awareness month. There were various activities planned for the students and the community of Woodland Acres Elementary School. The students of WAES and WAMS partipated in the drug free parade and rally. Staff and students met in the parking lot of the old campus. You could hear cheering and music from the band as students walked through the parking lot of the new building holding signs and banners. A guest speaker discussed the importance of being healthy mentally and physically. We were reminded about the importance of keeping drugs out of our lives.

Fall Festival

On October 26th kids from Pre K -5th grade rolled in to participate in an eventful evening. People enjoyed turkey legs, corn in a cup, and many other snacks. Children were running around trying to get in line for moonwalks and games. By now, you are probably wondering what was going on.......It's the FALL FESTIVAL! It is a time to make Wildcat memories laughing, playing, dancing, and celebrating a great time together.
Big picture

Honor Society

Woodland Acres Elementary held its Honor Society Ceremony. The Multipurpose room was filled with supportive family and friends. We also had teachers and district administrators attending the event to witness such special time. The students looked great and are very deserving of such honor.

Great Job to all participants!
