END OF 2nd QUARTER
Next Friday (Dec. 20, is the end of the 2nd Quarter! Report cards will be available on Home Access Center on January 10.
E-LEARNING DAYS
In the event of a snow day or an extreme cold day where the students do not come to school, we will have an E-Learning Day. Information on what to do will be emailed/posted on the morning of a snow day. Students will be required to complete a few academic activities for it to count as a school day and not have to be made up at the end of the school year. For our class, our activities will be posted on our class website, on ClassDojo, and on the students' Google Classroom.
ACCEL MATH
We have started Unit 4, which is all about introducing some of the basic pre-algebra concepts. We will work on exponents, order of operations, and the distributive property before the break. Once we return from winter break, we will pick up with identifying parts of expressions and the use of variables.
HOUR OF CODE
This week, we took part in a nation-wide event called Hour of Code. This is an opportunity to introduce basic coding programs and languages to our students. We used sites like code.org and Khan Academy to participate in the event. The students truly enjoyed the coding activities and we will look to increase our coding time throughout the rest of the year.
GRANGER PRELUDE
On Monday, December 16 at 7:30 pm, there will be an informational meeting at Granger Middle School for parents of 5th graders that are interested in playing an instrument next year. For more details, please visit the Granger Music Program's Website.
