Principal's Message
Greetings Mountain View Community,
We are excited to announce that we were awarded a grant the 2020-2021 Safe and Sounds for Student Success Grant from the Beaverton Education Foundation (BEF). This grant will help us provide quality after school programing that will include Homework Club, Fitness Club, and the new school newspaper. There are many clubs being offered at Mountain View this year, check out the complete list here.
Grades are due this week on Friday. Check in with your student to make sure their assignments are complete, and contact teachers with any questions. Log in to Canvas to check progress and see what your student is learning.
Remember, Wednesday (11/11) and Friday (11/13) this week there are no classes. Wednesday is Veteran's Day and Friday is the grading day. Thank you to all of our Veterans for their service to our country!
Honored to Serve This Community,
Wendy Rider

Call for Members of our Equity Advisory Team and Principal's Advisory Council
Every year I meet with a group of students once a month for the school year. This group is known as the Principal's Advisory Council; it's purpose is to discuss what is going well, and not going well at Mountain View. We brainstorm solutions to the identified issues, and create a plan of action. My goal is to create leadership capacity, and teamwork skills along the way.
This year, our students in this group will form the foundation for our Equity Advisory Team. Parents, teachers, and community members will join the students to create Mountain View's Equity Advisory Team. We will meet monthly, and have opportunities to collaborate with other Equity Teams across the district. The goal will be to identify issues and develop plans to address them; we will focus on issues that create unequal outcomes for our students that are predictable based on race, income, home language, and other factors. We want to be a community active in solving these deep rooted problems.
Please email me if you are interested in our Equity Advisory Team, or have your student email me if they are interested in the Principal's Advisory Council. wendy_rider@beaverton.k12.or.us
