Adopt a Life Save a Life
Care for the animals who can't care for themselves.
We need to do a lot of things to get animals off the streets. The best thing to do is adopt, but if you can't adopt, then foster. If you can't foster, then volunteer and if you don't have time to volunteer, then donate to local animal shelters or hospitals.
Statistics
According to American Humane Association, every 7 to 20 percent of pets [that are not yet neutered or spayed] are thrown onto the street, by their owners, after 6 months of ownership.
Causes
Owners are not spaying and neutering their animals and then when they are thrown onto the street they just keep populating. We need to take care of the animals because they can't spay and neuter themselves.
What We Can Do
There are four main things we can do to stop overpopulation of animals. Always spay and neuter your pets.
Always adopt your pets from a legitimate shelter or nonprofit rescue group.
Think about all the responsibilities of having a pet before bringing one home.
Educate your children, friends, family members and co-workers about pet overpopulation, adoption and the importance of spaying and neutering. If we do this it will reduce the amount of animals in shelters and, therefore, decrease the amount of animals being put down drastically.
