This week in 8th grade science students will be wrapping up the unit on simple molecules and extended structures. We will begin a unit on states of matter, phases of matter and thermal energy.
Unit Objectives:
* Develop a model that describes changes in particle motion, temperature and state of a pure substance when thermal energy is added or removed.
* Determine the relationship among the energy transferred, the type of matter, the mass, and the change in the temperature of the sample
Key Words:
States of Matter
Solid
Liquid
Gas
Thermal Energy
Kinetic Energy
