AMS Annual Christmas Door Decorating Contest

AMS had a great time with their annual Christmas Door Decorating Contest. Advisory classes worked together to decorate the doors. Students had some very creative ideas and brought them to life beautifully. AMS is definitely in the Christmas Spirit!!

Airedale Theatre Students present 1776

The reviews are in and 1776 was a big hit. Students worked hard and presented a lovely presentation of the musical that is based on the events leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence, telling a story of the efforts of John Adams to persuade his colleagues to vote for American independence and to sign the document. It had a little bit of everything, fun songs, romance, humor and history. Great job, Airedale Theatre!!

Attendance Works

Across the country, more than 8 million students are missing so many days of school that they are academically at risk. Chronic absence — missing 10 percent or more of school days due to absence for any reason—excused, unexcused absences and suspensions, can translate into third-graders unable to master reading, sixth-graders failing subjects and ninth-graders dropping out of high school. Alma School District is part of the Attendance Works Initiative, to help address absences district wide. We are working to provide evidence based information to parents, students and our community. Learning takes place every day and we need the support and help of everyone. Attendance is one of the best indicators for academic success and Alma School District is committed to seeing each of our students succeed. Airedale attendance is on the rise and the programs we are implementing are showing signs of improvement across all of our campuses.

In the upcoming weeks, we will be focusing on attendance and the issues that face students and their families and passing along information and tips to aid in improving attendance. Please visit the Attendance Works website to learn more about this initiative.
