Dear Cardinal Family,
Dear Cardinal Family,
Catch a bubble, follow the leader, and keep pace with your line.
Some lessons from kindergarten apply so well to graduation rehearsal.
Today we walked through entering and exiting graduation. It sounds silly and simple. It mostly is, but with close to 500 graduates, it can go sideways fast. Our seniors did a great job of paying attention and staying on task, and got us in and out quickly today. This was huge because afterward, there was a picnic and party at the flats sponsored by the senior class. Rehearsal went smoothly. The weather was awesome. We are ready for Sunday!
As the year winds down, there is a high degree of stress and excitement. Somehow, this milestone is both exhilarating and exhausting. I'm thankful that we're all on this journey together, working through the struggles and celebrating the successes.
For underclassmen, next week is finals week! Please walk through the alternate schedule with your Cardinal.
Have a great summer and Go Cards!
Sincerely,
Pete Scully
Principal
Thomas Worthington HS

**TWHS Construction Update**
Dr. Bowers put out a blog post answering the basic questions we've been receiving, and it's a good reminder that we need to continue communicating every step of the way.
**Reminder - Door 16 is the Main Visitor Entrance**
The main visitor entrance has moved to Door 16 (back, center of the building). Doors 1 and 2, along with most of the south side of the building, will only be accessible to construction vehicles and emergency vehicles. All visitors must enter through Door 16. It is our normal location for student drop-off and pick-up before and after school by car. This procedure will not change, although there is designated visitor parking and the entrance will be staffed throughout the day. (Here is a map of the property if you need it.)
**Final Exam Schedule**
Semester Exams – May 22, 23 and 24
Dear Thomas Worthington Students and Families:
Exams will be given May 22 through 24. The exam schedule is printed below. Students are required to be in attendance during their scheduled exam times each day. At other periods during the day, if your student does not have an exam they are not required to be at school. The Library will be open for students who remain on campus to study. Academic Intervention Assistants will be available in the Cards Center. Please discuss your expectations of how your student should handle this special exam schedule. The building must remain quiet with the least amount of noise and disruption.
Buses will operate on the normal schedule during exam week; except on Wednesday, when there will be two bus runs: an early run at 12:40 p.m. and a second run at the regular time of 3:20. Lunch will be provided on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, we will provide breakfast and students may pick up a bagged lunch in between the 3rd period and 6th period exams. The cafeteria will not be open for lunch after the 6th period exam.
We wish all students a successful exam week. Please remember that the final exam is worth 10% of the semester grade. Also, the fourth quarter grades and the semester grades determine eligibility for fall sports/activities.
Sincerely,
Pete Scully, Principal

** ACADEMIC UPDATES**
What Teachers and Staff are Saying
The 3Rs - Cardinal Expectations at TWHS
There are three general behavior expectations at Thomas Worthington High School: build Relationships, show Respect, and be Responsible.
We define build Relationships as “to cultivate belonging”. It is our goal that 100% of our students feel connected to at least one adult that they trust enough to go to when they really need it. From our morning greeting as each student enters the building, to each teacher connecting with each student, to our Wednesday homeroom lessons, we strive to create an environment that is so welcoming - all are inspired to learn.
We define show Respect as “use appropriate language”. We work towards being mindful of the words we speak and the immense power they have on ourselves and others. We learn that the words we say, along with the time, setting, and location have an impact on others.
We define be Responsible as “to attend and be on time to class”. We are intentional about the value of showing up, being on time, and being present for ourselves and others.

2023 Senior Survey - Please Complete!
Dear Class of 2023,
Please complete this brief survey so the TWHS School Counseling Department can get your final transcript sent to the college you will be attending this fall. If you do not complete the survey, we will not know where to send your transcript! Colleges may withhold your financial aid, or delay your course registration if they don't have your final transcript stating you graduated.
Additionally, as a reminder to all students who took College Credit Plus classes and will be moving on to college in the fall, you will need to request your transcripts directly from Columbus State and/or Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) in order for your new college to be able to evaluate your transcript and award you credits for completed classes. You will be able to request for your transcripts to be sent electronically. Please visit the appropriate college website below to make the request:
Columbus State Community College (Ex: Comp 1, Comp 2, Intro to Psych, Intro to Soc.)
Central Ohio Technical College (Ex: Math 150, Chem 100, Math 200, Math 210, Etc.)
Good luck, Seniors! We wish you nothing but the best!
Sincerely,
Your TW School Counselors
