We would like to start by saying how amazing our families have been with problem solving, participating, communicating and connecting last week. Speaking to the staff, they have all been so appreciative of your commitment and perseverance - which is unbelievable given what families are coping with. We know that this has been a challenging start to the new year for many. Please reach out to your child(ren)'s classroom teacher if you are experiencing difficulties. We'll try out best to work through issues. You may also call the office for assistance.


DEVICE/INTERNET ISSUES - update


Some families are identifying new tech/internet needs as remote learning continues. If your child requires a device or internet connectivity, please let their teacher know. In the spring Limestone IT was able to provide cell phones as hot spots for families with little/no internet. They are currently rolling this out as we speak, with the priority being Gr. 12s, then moving down. Please let Mrs. Paquin know if you are in this boat. There is no guarantee that they'll get to us, but we're going to try hard. All devices should be sent back to school with your child on the first day school resumes.


ATTENDANCE


Teachers are taking attendance each day at 2:30. To be marked present, students need to connect with their teachers before that time (e.g., handing in work, participating in Google Meets, messaging/e-mailing teachers). If you know that your child(ren) are not going to be "at school", please use the messenger app to call in the absence. If your child is marked absent, you will receive a phone call from the school the next morning so that the reason can be recorded. Students who have made arrangements with their classroom teachers and are doing work asynchronously will be marked present.

Please support our on-going gift card fundraiser that you are able to participate in on your own time, all year round.


Check out www.fundscrip.com and see all of the great gift cards that are offered. There are over 170 retailers from popular department stores to gas stations to restaurants and each month new promotions are offered. This fundraiser is great way to help our school raise money. Over the last year, with a very small number of families ordering we have raised over $500!


The only cost to you is the shipping. The gift cards can be shipped directly to you by lettermail for $1.04. This option is for up to 4 cards or up to a $500 value. The cards will be 2 to 7 business days in transit. They can also be sent Xpresspost (with no limits) at an increased cost.

Pick Up Nevada Tickets and Drop off Batteries at the same place

Did you know that you can purchase Nevada tickets to support GPS? They can be purchased at the Centex Gas Station - Glenburnie Convenience (2408 Perth Road). Alkaline batteries can also be dropped off there for recycling. A big thank you to Centex for helping us! Prizes are awarded to schools that participate and the battery program supports Sick Kids Hospital.

Bus Delays and Cancellations

Families should ensure they are signed up to receive direct notifications, either by email, or Tri-Board’s app. Delays and cancellations are also posted to Tri-Board’s Twitter account. Please have a back-up plan if your child's bus is cancelled!
