Senior Parent Night

Latino Parent Meeting- Thursday, September 19th at 6-7:30pm
PSAT Registration- Begins September 18th
The PSAT will be held at JMM on Saturday, October 19th at 8am.
REGISTRATION for the PSAT will begin Wednesday, September 18th and close Wednesday, October 2nd at 3:45pm. Please come to student services before or after school to register with $25 cash or check made out to Memorial High School. Fee waivers are available for students who qualify - please talk to your counselor.

Visit our Learning Experiences Beyond The Classroom and Career Exploration pages on the JMM Website, and spend some time in Xello to explore your interests, skills, and related paths for the future. Consider exploring Pre-College programs at this link.
SOPHOMORES
-Job shadowing someone in a career of interest to you for an hour or two.

-If you want to get hands-on experience, there are some careers that offer a Youth

JUNIORS
-Continue work on your to do list from your Junior Conference with your counselor
-Consider signing up for the October 26th ACT to improve your score. Register HERE. If you feel you are eligible for a tuition fee waiver, see your counselor before school ends.
-If you feel that preparation for the ACT/SAT might be helpful, start with METHOD TEST PREP in Xello
SENIORS
-Schedule and do a 15 minute conference with your counselor to inform them of your plans following graduation, and any help you need.
-Complete an application for colleges or training programs after graduation that will help prepare you for your long term careers of interest.
-Make sure to fill out the FAFSA if you plan to attend a college that you'll need financial aid for. Attend a COLLEGE GOAL WI night for help!
-Continue to explore careers and visit schools and/or programs of interest if you're not sure about what option is best for you.

Selective Service
Almost all male U.S. citizens and male immigrants, who are 18 through 25, are required to register with Selective Service.
- It's important to know that even though he is registered, a man will not automatically be inducted into the military.
- Registration allows you eligibility for federal student loans and federal jobs/job training.

It's Time to Submit Your College Application Materials!
Send your counselor application materials that must be completed by them before your colleges' deadlines. (like Secondary School Reports, brag sheets for Recommendations, etc.).
Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(anyone wishing to apply for financial aid with a college or university will usually need to fill out this government form Senior Year) Attend a COLLEGE GOAL WI night for help, and be eligible for a scholarship drawing!
