Student Parking Changes
Student parking permissions will be changing and students will now need to register their cars with the school in order to receive a Glenn parking pass. In order to receive a parking pass, students will need a valid driver 's license, proof of insurance, and registration.
Students are being encouraged to start this process now and we will begin enforcing the parking passes at the start of next semester in January. Students will receive a warning the first week that we return from Winter Break. After that, the vehicle could be towed.
We went over a little with our Admin Zoom Room this week. If you missed any part of the presentation, please use the link below to review the parking pass information for our students , especially if you currently drive to school.

More information will be shared with students during our admin zoom announcements and on Schoology. If students would like to get a head start, please bring all of the information mentioned above to the Student Services Office to fill out the Student Parking Pass Form.
Eagles,
Each year, we have the opportunity to nominate and select a Classified Employee as Employee of the year. Classified staff has nominated and voted and the results are in...drumroll please...
Please join me in congratulating the John Glenn Classified Employee of the Year - Mr. Luis Esparza, better known as Louie!!
Louie has been part of keeping our campus safe for five years in his role as Security Assistant and sees this vital role in making sure that the campus is safe from threats. He is a team player who values communication and collaboration with every member to keep our students, our staff, and our campus safe. He does this with kindness, respect, and care every step of the way. In his words, "It takes a village" and he is a very important part of that village here at Glenn.
When you see Louie (he's usually by the 1100 building restroom these days, give him a COVID-safe hug and a fist bump and tell him "Congratulations,"
Holiday Gathering Reminders
We look forward to seeing our Eagles happy and healthy after the much-needed Holiday break

JGHS Robotics Take the Champion Title...AGAIN!
Join us in congratulating our NLMUSD Autonomous Robotics Champions. Our robotics team, Diego Contreras and Sammy Hamouda, won their second consecutive robotics championship yesterday. They achieved the three highest scores of the night by earning perfect scores in all three of their runs. Their robot was the only robot to earn a perfect score and their score was 6x greater than second place. These students are absolutely amazing and their dedication to excellence inspiring.

ATHLETICS
Feature Student Athlete of the Week
As we chug toward the end of the semester, we would like to celebrate our final feature student athlete of 2021. It is my pleasure to recognize April Zavala this week. April is a truly impressive young adult who we can tell will have an extraordinary future. April is a member of our Varsity Volleyball team, CSF, and a very successful member of our school band. April’s success in our band has not gone unnoticed as she was recently named to the 2022 Tournament of Roses Honor Band. April is extremely excited to perform and commented that she remembers seeing others being selected for the honor band and promised herself that she would also be selected at some point. Tune in on Saturday, January 1st, 2022 to see April perform in the world famous Rose Parade.
April is hoping to attend UC Berkeley or UC Irvine after she graduates from Glenn. She is interested in majoring in chemistry and becoming an anesthesiologist. She is on track to achieve her dreams as April currently holds a 4.0 GPA for the fall semester, while taking 3 AP courses. Her cumulative GPA is 4.368, which has earned her a senior class ranking of 4! Aside from being a truly dedicated student, April is a self taught painter and enjoys painting landscapes and other existing scenery.
Much like last week’s feature student, Glenn is truly honored to have April as a student. We are all very proud and excited to see all of April’s future achievements starting with her performance at the 2022 Tournament of Roses Parade. Once again April, congratulations on all of your well deserved success.

Students are only allowed in the blacktop area ONLY if they are playing basketball or volleyball. No spectators allowed. Please bring your own ball and proper footwear. If there are any issues with trash, inappropriate behavior, or other concerns then this activity will be canceled. There is no eating in the blacktop area.
