Cardinal Courier: April 15th
Where Learning Takes Flight
A Note from Mrs. Tallent
Hi Cardinals,
This week our students showed us that EVERY Penny Counts during Penny Wars! Our first graders gave our fourth graders a run for their money, but fourth grade pulled it out on the last day to win it all. A huge thank you to our parents for all of their support!
Academic Night was a huge success! Thank you to all our students and parents who joined us last night. We hope you had fun doing the various Reading, Math, Science and Social Emotional activities we had set up all around the campus. The Maker Space Bus was also a huge hit! Thank you PTO for supporting us in offering that experience!
This coming week we will start our STAAR testing and campus will be closed to all visitors, including lunch visitors, during this time. Please see specific STAAR dates below and reach out to our front office if you have any questions. This week we also have our Kindergarten Round Up. If you know a family that has an incoming Kindergarten student, please help us pass on information. We would love to see them on Wednesday night!

2023-2024 Class Considerations
Creating class lists each year is a thorough process that takes into consideration students' social/emotional and academic needs, students' learning styles, peer relations, and academic programming. Each child is placed with much care and thoughtful consideration to help him/her grow and have a successful school year. Current teachers, relevant support staff, and administrators provide input into students' class placements. Because there are so many factors that need to be met, it is not possible for us to honor specific teacher requests from parents. We truly believe that each and every one of the teachers at FCE would give nothing but their very best to support your child and provide him/her with a positive and productive school experience. If you have any information that you feel would be helpful for us to know about your child's needs for next year, we encourage you to have a conversation with your child's teacher and fill out the FCE Placement Considerations for Next Year Form we have provided before May 5th. Please do not email specific teacher requests for your child. Thank you for your understanding and trusting that we always have your child's best interest in mind.

Fall Creek PTO
Texas Roadhouse Spirit Night
FCE will have a Texas Roadhouse Spirit Night on Tuesday, April 18th from 4-10p. Show your server the flyer and have them scan the barcode. They will also have a copy of flyer to scan. For online orders, you can enter the barcode number in the coupon section for school to receive credit or have a staff member scan the flyer when picking up the order.
We will also have a class contest to make it even more fun! When you arrive to the restaurant, ask the server for the QR code, so you can fill out a short form to count towards your child’s class. Thank you for supporting FCE and our Cardinals!
The PTO Needs YOU!
Parents, we need you! Without volunteers for critical roles, the PTO will not be able to support our campus in the same manner as we have before. Why join? You will always be 'in-the-know,' meet lots of cool parents, build rapport with your child's teachers/administration, give input on events and ideas, and support your child/their school! Sample open positions are: Vice President 1, Fall Fundraising Coordinator, Spring Fundraising Coordinator, Fundraising Support, & Online Support (One Cause). We have many roles to fit your interests and time availability. If you want to know more, please email our president at fceptopres@fcpto.com. Thank you!
