Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the most influential people during the Civil Rights Movement. His speeches moved all that listened to him and resonates with everyone in a different way. His non-violent protest were very powerful and effective. The day of his assassination will go down in infamy.
Jesse Jackson
Jesse Jackson was a very influential Civil Rights Activists. Jesse Jackson was the leader of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). He also helped organize Operation Breadbasket, which was for helping the economic conditions of black communities.
Malcolm X
After Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination Malcom X rose to power as a very influential Civil Rights Leaders. Malcom X preferred .the violent approach with protest because he believed in ruling by force. Malcom X was successful with his approach because the people were tired of turning the other cheek in non-violent protest. He was particularly focused on younger groups of African Americans who wanted to fight back.
