Child Tax Credit direct payments have begun
- Look for a deposit labeled “CHILDCTC” in your bank account.
- The federal American Rescue Plan increased the amount of the 2021 Child Tax Credit to support families with children. The full benefit of the Child Tax Credit is now $300 per month per child under age 6 and $250 for each child age 6 to 17. To get money to families sooner, the IRS will send families half of their 2021 Child Tax Credit as monthly payments for six months (July – December 2021) and you’ll receive the remaining tax credit when you file your taxes next year. Child Tax Credit information is available in multiple languages. Learn more frequently asked questions
Did you file taxes in the last two years or sign up to get a stimulus check last year? Then you don’t have to do anything to get the money you’re already owed! The IRS will automatically send you a monthly payment by direct deposit or check starting on July 15, 2021 if you are eligible.
Didn’t file taxes in the last 2 years? There’s one easy step to start getting your Child Tax Credit payments. Just fill out a simple form to begin receiving your monthly payments.
