In business for business
Keep your eyes open
A money changing scam has been operating in the South East part of the country.
To date a criminal gang have hit businesses & financial institutions in Kilkenny, Carlow, Waterford , Tramore , Dungarvan and around Fermoy.
They have two approaches (a) Looking to change large sums and confusing staff and retaining some of the money, (b) where they buy a few hundred euro worth of groceries / goods and when paying try to give some back and exchange others and in the confusion retain some money.
The general advice is
1. Dont change money
2. Be very wary of large product sales where buyer introduces an element of confusion at the till
3. Count and recount cash before leaving goods out of the store.
PLEASE SPREAD WORD AND PREVENT THIS FRAUD FROM HAPPENING LOCALLY.
Congrats to Chamber President John Brophy
