Homework
1. Uncompleted Work- This means the child did not complete it in class and it may be sent home for completion.
2. Sight Words- The Red List was sent home last week. When you know your child is ready to be assessed please let your child's teacher know. Once they master a list they will receive the next one.
3. Saxon- Saxon is a very intense phonics program that teachers spelling patterns instead of memorization. uses. At times we will send home the back of the daily Saxons sheet that we do in class. This is for extra practice and reinforcement. The parent instructions are listed on the back of the paper.
4. Saxon readers- Saxon uses decodable readers to help our students become better readers. As the year progresses the readers become more challenging. If you look at the current readers for many students they are too easy. Easy is great!! That means they can practice their fluency skills. Read to mom, dad, the pet, and even in the mirror to themselves. This also helps them with tone when identifying the types of punctuations and how our voice can change.
A Few Reminders
Review behavior expectations with your child.
Be mindful of the Red Oak ISD dress code. Hoodies are NOT allowed in the classroom. They must be put in their bags or cubies.
