Wee Deliver is Back!
Beginning April 22, Symmes Elementary will be participating in the exciting program put out by the U.S. Postal Service called "Wee Deliver." This program is designed to provide children with real-life experiences through participation in an intra-school post office.
In order to make this experience as real as possible, your child will need to buy a stamp to send a letter. The stamps will be sold during the school day for a penny each.
Parents can write letters to their child(ren) during the time the post office is running. Parents can send in a penny with a completed letter with the child. The classroom teacher will ensure that the letter gets a stamp and is placed in the mailbox. To make things simpler this year, everyone will have the exact same address:
Student name
Room # Symmes Lane
Loveland, Ohio 45140
There are three main ways you can help us.
- First, give your child the opportunity to earn the money he/she needs to purchase his/her stamps.
- Second, please encourage your child to write letters.
- Last, please send in extra envelopes and/or stationery.
Thank you to the Symmes PTO for covering the cost of printing the stamps.
Attention All Fourth Grade Parents!
Human Growth and Development will be taught on April 28th for the Boys by Mr. Pierce and Mr. Pruss and on April 29th for the Girls by Nurse Ferron. Please check out Nurse Ferron’s Blackboard site which has the video we will show as well as resources for parents when discussing the class with your children. Please contact Nurse Ferron if you have any questions!

OPEN PTO BOARD POSITIONS
The PTO has 3 open board positions for the next school year. The open positions are: VP
of Ways and Means, Corresponding Secretary, and VP of Family Involvement. Each board position can be held by one or two people (except for Corresponding
Secretary).
A board member(s) needs to be available to attend the PTO board meeting
(the first Thursday of each month) and the general PTO meeting (the second Thursday of
each month). They are responsible for finding someone to chair each of the committees
that fall under their “umbrella”- although some of these positions may already be filled. It is also highly encouraged for board members to have previously chaired a committee.
1.) VP of Ways and Means Board Member is responsible for organizing the fundraising for
Symmes Elementary PTO. Some of the committees that fall under this
position are: Book Fair, Box Tops, Dodgeball, and the Flower Sale.
2.) The Corresponding Secretary is responsible for setting up the room and equipment for the board and general meetings. The committees that fall under this position include Room Parent Coordinator, Health Room, Welcome Back Coffee, Facebook, and Staff Appreciation.
3.) VP of Family Involvement is responsible for all PTO programs and events that
involve families. These events include Donuts with Dudes, Goodies with
Gals, Fall Family Night, and Kindergarten Meet & Greet.
Remember, there are chair positions that are responsible for each of these committees.
It is your job as a board member(s) to communicate and support them. This is a wonderful and fun way to get involved at Symmes!
If you have additional and specific questions relating to these open positions, please
contact Mary Jo Singler at: maryjo120@hotmail.com.
Thank-you!
