Lincoln/ Madison Feeder

Legendary Leadership * World-class Scholarship

Week of December 14, 2015

Our Vision

The Lincoln/Madison Feeder Pattern prepares scholars to lead, think, communicate and compete as responsible citizens who are college and career bound.

I would like to thank each of the incredible leaders in the Lincoln/Madison Feeder Pattern for your hard work this semester. I have been pleased with the way you have responded to the many opportunities that we face each day to impact the lives of the students we serve. Please take the next 2 weeks to rest. When we return in January, we will hit the ground running with a laser-like focus on student achievement, quality instruction and school climate.

From my family to yours: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Literacy PD Abounds

Our K-2 teachers will meet at Rhoads this Wednesday, December 16, 2015 3:45-5:15 at Rhoads for their final PD for the semester. Please remind your teachers and ICs to be in attendance.

The two 3-5 literacy cadre teachers and IC will attend their training on January 4, 2016 from 2:00-5:00 at Nolan Estes.

Also, Dunbar will host the feederwide literacy training on January 5, 2015 presented by Lead4Ward. The title of the session is "Figuring Out Figure 19," and it is my belief that if we can support our students in mastering this concept, we will strengthen their reading, writing, listening and speaking.

Data and the PLCs

Please take time now to update your PLC cycles to include the 3 week mini-markers that will start with the 4th six weeks. (Hopefully you have taken a look at the 4th six weeks assessments that have already been uploaded to curriculum central and started the conversations with your teachers regarding the curriculum calendars.) Please upload your revised PLC cycles onto our Lincoln/Madison collaborative google site by January 5, 2016.

Instructional Coach Training Tuesday

Please ensure that your ICs/Demos have registered for the training provided by Vince Reyes on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Buckner (8th floor). He will update the ICs on the new curricular resources available for the 4th six weeks. If you have APs that need to attend, please allow them to do so. Each school needs to be represented for each content as follows:

Science 8:00-10:00

RLA 10:30-12:30

Math 3:00-5:00

Each attendee should register at the link below:

As soon as I receive the agenda and documents,I will share them with you. Please arrive on time. Thanks!

Hiring Event on Monday

This year, our district will host a hiring event on Monday December 14, 2015 at Bush Elementary. Intensive Support Network schools will be granted entry beginning at 3:00 for advanced access to candidates. The 4 principals who will be attending will interview and hopefully recommend candidates on the spot. You received the packet on Friday, so hopefully you reached out to candidates this weekend. Our goal will be zero vacancies on Monday.

Leadership Focus and Updates

I will be stop by schools to check out your testing environment as I close out midyears this week.

- The bi-monthly I2020 update is due Tuesday on your gooole link. Please make sure that your quantitative data includes student achievement data such as ISIP, Common assessments, Achieve 3000(baseline), Reasoning Mind, SRI (high schools), DOL etc. You could also include attendance, truancy, discipline, spot data and survey feedback.

-Review the 4th 6 weeks common assessments this week during PLCs

-Principals should provide written feedback to teachers within 48 hours of the spot observation.

-Please note that non-renewals will be somewhat earlier this year due to the Board calendar. If you have teachers who are struggling, ensure that you are making every effort to support their progress.
