Greenville Splash swimmers are everywhere this summer. Everyone is busy swimming in triathlons, workouts, open water swims or taking advantage of a swim while on vacation. Our group practice swims at Lake Jocassee have been gaining speed as more people find the joy of open water swimming. Our last group swim had a record 27 swimmers. Thanks so much to our kayakers that volunteer to keep us safe.
Swimming in the summer is a natural part of our lifestyle. Help us make that come true for children in our community by participating in the Upstate Splash. Greenville Splash will host 2 events in September. The proceeds from our events will provide swim lessons to those in need. Sign up to volunteer or swim.
There are 2 more opportunities for group open water swims and a fun team social to watch the Olympics. Check out the calendar section of the website or facebook for more information. We always welcome all swimmers to any of our workouts, events and socials. Join the fun!

Swimmer of the Month: Fran Durovchic
Fran started swimming with us at Westside in January. She is continuing to improve her speed, endurance and technique. She is a hard worker and never stops or let it bother her if others are swimming faster in her lane, she just keeps swimming. She is always willing to try any sets given to her and even some occasional butterfly although it's not her favorite. Fran rarely misses a workout during the week and is a great lane buddy for her teammates. We love that she never stops smiling during the workout or maybe we're just not working her hard enough!
She signed up and competed in her first Masters swim meet. She had not been in a meet in over 40 years. She was a trooper. She swam every relay possible and swam many individual events. She is such a true team player. She swam the strokes on the relays that no one else wanted to do and filled in for others that had to scratch. Whenever the coach asked her to step in, she did not hesitate to help out. She also went to her first open water swim practice and loved it. We believe Fran is now hooked to swimming just like the rest of us. Fran you are our team's inspiration this month!
Thank you so much to our members that have paid their annual membership dues. Your dues help support our team expenses and provide for our continued growth.
Greenville Splash members: Video and stroke analysis is available with Coach Susan DeMere on Saturdays at the Kroc Center 8:00 am. Must sign up in advance.
