Highland Village Elementary
COVID-19 Week of March 23, 2020

A Note to Our HVE Families
Please tell your children that we all miss seeing, hugging, and teaching them each day! The staff is thinking of every single student and their families as we adjust to our new normal! We are so thankful for this Village and hope you feel that we are all in this together!
We want to be sure we communicate that our number one priority is the wellbeing of our students and families. Teachers will soon reach out directly to ensure you and your family are doing okay, and see what type of assistance you may need while school is out. But more than anything, our teachers want to hear the voices of our students! We are already missing the daily interactions we have with them. If there is anything you need in the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out to us and we will see how we can help.
Helpful Resources

K-5 At Home Learning
Please allow approximately 15-20 minutes per day, per subject for your child to complete the activities in the provided learning plans. Families may adjust these times as needed to meet their needs. Most learning will not require digital access, however, to gain access to any of the recommended digital platforms, families can find step by step directions on the LISD At Home Learning website linked below.

HVE Second Step Lesson 19
I know your access to a printer/ink may be limited. You do NOT need to print Home Links. Instead, just scroll to your child's grade level Home Link and discuss together. If there are any drawing or writing activities that go along with it, please feel free to complete orally or on scratch paper. We want this to be as easy as possible for you to implement at home!
Click the PDF link below to view grade level Second Step Lesson 19 Home Links.
- Every Monday morning at 7:45am, Mrs. Mitchell comes across the loudspeaker to share her weekly Second Step announcement. Each week focuses on a different SEL topic. Check out this week's announcement below:
