"Much of your success as an educator has to do with your attitude towards teaching and towards kids. The rest of your success is based on your willingness to relentlessly search for what engages students in the classroom and then having the guts to do it."

-Dave Burgess

Is it Christmas Break Yet?!?

As our 1st semester is wrapping up it can be difficult to find the energy to keep students highly engaged. Use this time to really hold true to Dave Burgess Teach Like A Pirate skills. Find your passion and use it... Be silly and over the top.... Let go of some of the everyday stress of getting in all the lessons and take the time to get in some real world teachable moments with your students!! Don't forget this is the magical time of year and you are making a difference in every one of your kids! :)

Hype up your students!!!

Mrs. Hays students are creating Hype videos to introduce new concepts. Jessica had the idea after watching Baylor football hype videos created to "hype up" the fans. She decided to utilize this strategy in her classroom!!

This year students are filming the fun actives they are doing in class to learn a concept as well as explaining the content and then merging it together into a video.

Mrs. Hays will show the videos next year when introducing a new unit to "hype up" her students about the upcoming learning!! Great job Mrs. Hays! :)
